This is my number one when it comes to foods that are good for your skin. Guess why? You are going to see an improvement on your skin after the 3rd day of incorporating chia seeds. This is not overrated, not exaggerated, just from my personal experience. You can take it as food or make a face mask. Chia is rich in:
- The Omega-3 fatty acids: Helps aid the healing process of irritated blemish wounds, as well as protect the outer layer of skin from bacteria. Chia is even richer in Omega-3 faaty acids tha salmon.

Chia exfoliating scrub: Take two tablespoons of chia, half a cup of cocnut oil, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 4 tablespoons of honey, mix well and apply on your face and neck. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water, and lastly apply a moisturizer. This scrub does not only give you a new smooth skin, but is also tempting. it smells heavenly and you will be tempted to eat it instead of giving your skin a treat.
Juicy chia: Add chia seeds to your favorite juice and drink it. Chia does not only have a smell, but it also will not change the taste of your juice. This makes it easy to incorporate with any foods or drinks that you like.
Oatmeal chia: Want to boost up your day and have a better skin afterwards? This is a combination of one of the best foods for healthy skin. To a bowl of oatmeal, add two spoonfuls of chia seeds, and Greek yougurt. If you love it sweet like me, sweeten it up with one or two spoons of honey.

- Anti acne: Apply a mashed tomato all over your face. Wash it off after half an hour and apply a good moisturizer. Do this regularly to kiss your acne goodbye.
- Removing dead cells: make a tomato paste with fresh tomatoes, add brown sugar and mix well. apply the mixture on your face and leave it for 20-30 minutes. Wash your face with warm water and apply your moisturizer. This helps in removing the dead cells.
- Tighten pores: Having had time with large pores? Not anymore from today. Mash tomatoes into a pulp and rub it on your face. Keep it on for about ten minutes and then wash off. Do this regularly for better results.

It contains beta-glucan that forms a fine film on your skin as well as penetrates deep into the skin to provide much needed deep moisturizing to your skin. Add a cup of milk to two cups of oats and two tablespoons of honey. mix well and use as a skin mask.
- Anti-acne properties: Boil oatmeal till soft. Let it cool, then apply it on your face and neck as a face mask. This act as an exfoliating mask, removing the excess fats and dead skin, leaving your skin smooth and glowing.
- Scrub for sensitive skin: Many people with sensitive skin have a problem finding the right exfoliating products. Oatmeal is the best solution. Boil a cup of oatmeal, add two tablespoons of natural honey and use this as an exfoliating mask. Warning! avoid oats in all forms if you experience redness, irritation or itchiness after using it. Water makes a large difference in your skin health. Water plumps up the skin, causing wrinkles and pores to, more or less, get filled in. Without enough intake of water, skin appears duller, and wrinkles and pores more prominent.
However, drinking a bunch of water today doesn’t mean your skin will look better for years to come. This should be a habit for it to be successful.
I recommend daily intake of one and a half to two litres of water, and spread them out throughout the day as opposed to guzzling them all at once.

These small fish that come in tins have more omega-3s than salmon. They’ve also got more B-12, protein, calcium, and iron. The vitamin B-12 can help with itchy eczema, and omega-3s are known to ease everything from adult acne to dandruff.
7. Broccoli, spinach and kales

Broccoli is not to be left out on my list of the best food for clear skin. Broccoli is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins C and E.
Vitamin C stimulates collagen production, thus keeping your skin healthy whereas vitamin A protects your skin cell membranes and prevents ultraviolet radiation damage.
It also has Lipoic acid which acts as an anti-inflammatory, decreasing under-eye circles, puffiness, redness and blotches, all while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.
